AREGE 4 AUG 83/

Memorandum by Captain Superintendent of Police on Colonials Office Despatch No. 78 of 1883

3212

I have the honour to report, that in Colonial Office Despatch No. 38 of 12th April 1876, the Secretary of State, it is stated that, "His Lordship will be very happy to give consideration to the applications of any members of the Police Force who have been engaged at home."

This guided the Government in its action with reference to the men already in the Force, and as to engagements thereafter, all Police agreements have mentioned the subject of remittance.
